Consultations at Clifton Hill Clinic are by appointment, with the exception of emergencies.

Booking appointments is easy. Appointments can be made either through our online appointment system or by calling the Clinic during normal opening hours.

If you have an urgent medical problem please let our receptionists know. We will do our best to see you as quickly as possible.

We ask all new patients to please either complete our online New Patient Registration Form or arrive at least 5 minutes before their first appointment, to allow time for their details to be recorded. Please also bring a list of any regular medications, including doses. All new adult patients must confirm their identity by providing a valid medicare card or photo ID.

In order to maintain a high standard of care, face to face consultations are preferred. However telephone consultations are available to existing patients who have been seen at the practice for an onsite face to face consultation within the last 12 months on a case by case basis. If you would like to arrange a telephone consultation please contact reception to discuss whether or not this can be accommodated.

Clifton Hill Clinic recognises that life is busy. We value our patient’s time and make every effort to run on schedule. However due to the uncertainty of the doctor’s work load this is not always possible. Patients can help the doctors to run on time by considering the length of the appointment time they book.

When choosing an appointment time please keep the following in mind:

• In a standard appointment of 5-15 mins the doctor will usually be able to adequately address one to two issues.
• If you have multiple issues to discuss we suggest you book a longer appointment of 30 mins. Longer appointments will incur a higher fee.
• Procedures such as skin excision or emergency laceration repair will always require a longer appointment (35+ mins).
• Please ask reception if you are unsure of which type of appointment is needed.

If you have booked an appointment but are no longer able to attend please notify the Clinic at least 2 working hours before your booked time, so that the space may be made available to another patient. Failure to attend your appointment or a late cancellation may incur a fee.
