Welcome Dr Genevieve Commins who brings with her a wealth of experience and expertise.

Genevieve grew up in East Gippsland. She completed an Arts degree (majoring in English and Classics) at Melbourne University before undertaking her medical degree at Deakin University, Geelong.

After several years of hospital training at Monash Health and the Royal Darwin Hospital, she embarked on her general practice training with additional skills in obstetrics and gynaecology.

Since completing her fellowship in 2021 she has worked in rural Victorian and remote NT communities as a rural generalist, operating across emergency departments and maternity services, as well as in community general practice. She has now settled in the inner north with her family.

Genevieve enjoys working with people of all ages and with various health concerns. She is experienced in IUD and contraceptive implant insertion/removal and minor skin procedures. She is also a pregnancy shared care provider for the Royal Women’s Hospital, the Mercy Hospital for Women, the Western Hospital Footscray and the Northern Hospital Epping. She has an interest in medical education and loves learning across the medical sciences and humanities.
